Meet Nanette Blake

Nanette Blake took her first dance class at age 3. With a background that includes 17 years of study in ballet, and 13 studying jazz and tap, she branched out into American Cabaret belly dancing in 2004. In 2013, she began studying Tribal Fusion style and in 2014 took her first ATS, Indian Folkdance, and Bollywood classes. In 2016, she was introduced to to Hot Pot ITS and received her Level 2 Technician sword certification with Belladonna Boheme,  completed her Ansuya Bellydance Certification and was certified through Rosa Noreen’s Grace Academy Ballet Skills for Belly Dancers.

She is currently immersed in teacher training with Belladonna, BellaFuse Bohemian Belly Dance certification, and Ansuya Instructor Certification Training, as well as independent study with  Jill Parker.

Additionally, she has taken belly dance workshops/intensives with some of the top names in the industry, including Mardi Love,  Sera Solstice, Irena Akulenko, Silvia Salamanca, Kami LiddleEbony, Wendy Bhagwati BroadwayKaeshi ChaiJohanna XenobiaDanielle HuttonMimi Fontana, and Brenna Crowley.

These days, Nanette focuses mainly on a Fusion style that blends belly dance with ballet, jazz and traditional Indian fusion dances. Though primarily a sword dancer, she also enjoys dancing with candles, zills, silk fans, and veils. She is exploring the world of flow with S staffs, poi, fire batons and more.

She currently performs as a soloist and as part of the fusion duo, Alchemy in Motion (visit AIM on Facebook). She is a former member of The Bellydance Sisterhood (American Cabaret), the Almas (Fusion), and Shimmy Ninja (geek/cosplay belly dance).

Nanette is available for performances, parties, events, and group or private lessons as a soloist or as part of Alchemy in Motion.
